Navy Pier, of course, is a lot more than 30 years old. It first opened as Municipal Pier in 1916 — 109 years ago. But before 1995, it wasn't the top local attraction we know today.

That show will take place at 10 p.m. and last 15 minutes, organizers said. Navy Pier will remain open on July 3 and 4, with live music and performances along with other events and activities.
