The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office is reporting storm damage in Deer Lodge after a major system moved through the area.

A Falkville woman was charged with child abuse this week after she allegedly beat her young son, according to a police affidavit, and Morgan County District Attorney Scott Anderson said this scenario can happen in any household.

A Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer was arrested and charged with child abuse in Iredell County on Wednesday. Officer Matthew Michael was arrested Wednesday afternoon, according to Iredell County Sheriff’s Office records.

The storm killed at least two people, according to the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office, a woman and her daughter.
