Facebook’s Messenger Platform was first introduced in April 2016 at F8, and Messenger Platform 2.0, an update with a series of tools to increase bot discovery, launched at F8 last year.

Facebook is already launching bots for Messenger with a number of companies, including Bank of America, Burger King, Fandango, eBay, Expedia, Salesforce, Shopify, Staples, StubHub, Zendesk and Zingle.
