Entertainment and family activities are scheduled during the day, including a puppet show at the LaSalle Library at 2:30 p.m. and a chance to meet Strawberry Festival mascot Captain Strawberry.

The library also serves as a key link to the region's past. It served as the post office, police station and jail when LaSalle was a village. The city annexed the section in 1927.
