According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the Kentucky River is expected to crest in Lockport at 57 feet on Tuesday, surpassing the previous record of 56.9 feet.
This puts the river at a moderate flood risk. The Kentucky River at Frankfort Lock is, as of 2:30 p.m. on Monday, expected to rise to 47.0 feet and currently sits at 48.2 feet.
The Kentucky River appeared to crest in Frankfort on Monday morning at nearly 48.3 feet, the second-highest on record and just shy of breaking the record of 48.5 feet.
