According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, there's "buzz" that Josh McDaniels could return as offensive coordinator of the Patriots.

Mike Vrabel ‘s Patriots interview will take place today, and with the Patriots having satisfied the Rooney Rule, they could make a hire soon. Though, both Lions coordinators — Ben Johnson, Aaron Glenn — have received requests as well. Johnson’s interview is set for Friday.

Mike Vrabel interviewed for the New England Patriots' vacant head coaching job on Thursday. There have been questions as to what his staff could potentially look like if he's ultimately hired for the job.

“There is buzz in some coaching circles that Josh McDaniels could be a prime candidate to be Vrabel's offensive coordinator. That would be quite the nostalgia tandem, and though McDaniels is a two-time failed head coach, no one disputes his coordinator chops,” Jeremy Fowler reported.

Rob Gronkowski gave his reaction to the Patriots firing Jerod Mayo, while also mapping out a Vrabel-McDaniels partnership in New England.

Mike Vrabel is viewed as the favorite to become the next head coach of the New England Patriots, and there is talk that he could bring another former member of the organization with him if he lands the job.
