Venturing, a program built for young adults still interested in the scouting experience, has been open to boys and girls since its inception in 1998.
Youth are invited to a Venturing Crew open house hosted by the Boy Scouts beginning at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 29, at Phoenix Inn, 3410 Spicer Drive S.E., Albany.
Boy Scouts of America, which has had co-ed programs — Venturing, Sea Scouts and Exploring — for decades, changed the rules in October 2017.
Venturing, a Boy Scouts program, encourages young men and women to explore the outdoors. Boys and girls ages 14-20 qualify for the program.
