An heiress to the L.L. Bean fortune who made the paintings of N.C., Andrew and Jamie Wyeth part of her life has enlisted Jamie to help undo the damage of a fire in Port Clyde.

Linda Bean, who owns the Port Clyde General Store and the adjacent art gallery devoted to the Wyeths, said three original works from Jamie Wyeth were lost. In a statement, she vowed to rebuild.
