JACKIE ROBINSON A statue honoring Robinson at McAdams Park in Wichita, Kansas, recently got vandalized, resulting in donations surpassing $145,000 on what would have been his 105th birthday.

Before breaking baseball's color barrier in 1947 with the Brooklyn Dodgers, Robinson attended the school from 1939 to 1941, starring in football, basketball, track and field, and, of course, baseball.
