The American Legion post 229 is participating in KRIS 6 News Flag for a Flag event for the first time ever. The Islander Post is partnering with Boy Scout Troop 949 to retire the worn American flags.

The theme park giant created in 2024 when Six Flags merged with Cedar Fair, the owner of Cedar Point and Kings Island, will close Six Flags California's Great America in Santa Clara, California.

Both parks are a point of pride for Ohioans. A year ago, Cedar Fair, the owner of the two parks, and many other amusement parks across North America, was merged with Six Flags as the parent company.
