Winnipeg police have arrested a senior member of the force who had been criminally already charged last year but is now facing new allegations including drug trafficking and obtaining and distributing pictures of a deceased person.

Two Winnipeg police officers arrested and face new charges in ongoing misconduct probe

The charges stem from a lengthy 16-month internal investigation led by the Winnipeg Police Service’s Professional Standards Unit. A second officer, Const. Vernon Strutinsky, has also been charged with two criminal offences in connection with a separate incident in 2023.
