Whatever the true story behind the ice cream sundae, it has evolved far beyond old-fashioned chocolate and cherry to more modern creations by some of the best chefs around Chicago.

More than 100,000 ice cream bars are being recalled in 23 states, including New Jersey due to listeria contamination, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
