To make your bin, drill holes all around the can, including the bottom and lid, for airflow and drainage. If using a plastic can, place a 2x4 inside while drilling to prevent it from warping.

Install Drawer Slides to Cabinet Install the drawer slides 15-3/4-in. up from the cabinet bottom. Pre-drill the screw holes. Make sure the drawer slides are level and flush with the cabinet face.

(I bought two 12 gallon plastic storage bins to make mine.) A lid for the interior bin will keep flies from getting in. Screen door patches and superglue will keep your worms in and bugs out.
