When Ernest Hemingway owned Finca Vigía, his house in Cuba, its location was quiet and remote, out in the small hamlet of San Francisco de Paula. Now it’s owned by the Cuban government.

An American foundation restoring Ernest Hemingway’s home in Cuba will be allowed to — for the first time — import construction materials directly from the U.S. to aid the preservation efforts.
