The minimum pledge still remaining to reserve a Plastic Bottle Cutter is €20 (US$22), with delivery estimated for June 2016 if all goes to plan.
The plastic bottle cutter is constructed from wood and steal and has this month been launched via the Kickstarter crowdfunding website looking to raise €8500 to go into production.
The handy product already has $97,000 in pledges on its Kickstarter campaign, surpassing its $9,445 goal. With only $22, you can reserve one. The plastic bottle cutter will begin shipping this June.
Called, aptly enough, the Plastic Bottle Cutter, it creates a plastic twine by slowly shredding a 2-liter soda bottle. From there, it can be braided or used for other purposes.
The Plastic Bottle Cutter slices bottles into strips which can be used for anything from DIY to arts and crafts. It was fully funded on Kickstarter and it can be bought online now for around £20.
Enough plastic bottles are thrown away each year to circle the earth four times. The Plastic Bottle Cutter hopes to help change that, and found an innovative way to recycle bottles.
