The Happy Tree, which captivated kids (and adults) with its life-like features, was a must-see in the Avalon Mall in St. John’s dating back to the 1970s.

Ms. Vincent said the Happy Tree’s eyes will be fixed, though she did not say when. “We do intend to continue Happy Tree as long as possible, as he’s important to our community,” she said.
