Passengers onboard Japan Airlines flight 516 say it was a miracle that all 379 people onboard escaped unscathed following a fiery collision at Tokyo’s Haneda airport.

Footage an hour later showed the plane entirely engulfed in fire. It said the plane was an Airbus A-350, JAL flight 516, which had flown out of Shin Chitose airport in Japan to Haneda.

Japan’s airports performed strongly in the Skytrax World Airport Awards 2025, shining in categories including cleanliness and facilities for persons with reduced mobility.
