Montreal police (SPVM) have confirmed that a pruner in his 20s has died after being electrocuted while working on a tree in Montreal's Saint-Laurent borough.

On July 16, 2018, Denis Masson, a pruning assistant at a tree-cutting company owned by Omer and Bermin Laviolette, was at a site with his employer and another worker to trim a 15-metre cedar.
