Despite being nearly 24 years old, the GTA 3 map is still one of the best open worlds in the genre. It was Rockstar Games’ first 3D and truly immersive gaming map that set the course of the series.

In the map of GTA 3, there is a Francis International Airport hoarding that reads, "See you in Miami". Back in 2001, this was not given much thought.
