Lantern Rite is back, and with it comes a chance to get a free 4-star Liyue character in Genshin Impact. Now comes the hard part – picking which free character is right for your team.

New characters Mavuika and Citlali will debut in the first half of 5.3, breaking precedent. Future characters and Liyue character reruns, like Shenhe and Ganyu, are anticipated in Version 5.3.

Every year during the Lantern Rites event, a Liyue 4-star unit can be obtained for free. Genshin Impact players can collect any one 4-star unit that canonically originates from Liyue.
