The Alvin Independent School District Board of Trustees voted 7-0 on Thursday, November 11 to name Dr. Fred Brent as the lone finalist for the Superintendent of Alvin ISD.

The Georgetown school board on Monday hired Devin Padavil as superintendent for the 13,700-student district. Padavil will replace Fred Brent, who retired in June after nine years at the helm.
