JAKARTA, Indonesia – Indonesians have found a new symbol for their growing frustration at uneven justice in their young, democratic nation: cheap, worn-out flip-flops.

The flip-flop is under attack from across the political spectrum, with Tories saying it doesn’t go far enough and environmentalists saying it sabotages plans to address climate change.
