While lavender fields form the perfect Instagram backdrop, they’re also said to offer health benefits. For centuries the flower has been used as a remedy for pain and burns.

The top 10 most beautiful flower fields, according to the eye-tracking study, include one other U.S. destination, the Bluebonnet Fields in Ennis, Texas which was ranked No. 8 on the list.

What it does have is fields of flowers — jasmine, May rose, tuberose, lavender. It is known as the perfume capital of the world. It wasn't always this way.
