The New California Republic (NCR) is one of the largest factions in the Fallout universe. They are mentioned in every game, and make direct appearances in Fallout 2 and Fallout: New Vegas.

Fallout gave me a kind of Old World Blues for the NCR. I know the NCR wasn’t a perfect place, and I know that you can’t keep the Wasteland truly apocalyptic if it survives as a dominant force.

The NCR also has a foothold in parts of Northern California, Oregon, and Nevada. As a result, most of West Coast-set Fallout season 1 takes place on (or near) the NCR’s turf.
