Exmouth and the Ningaloo Coast in Western Australia have the world’s spotlight on them as the best place to view the solar eclipse on April 20.

A high-tech facility is being built on Western Australia's remote north-west coast as part of AUKUS efforts to improve "deep-space object tracking".

Investing in the future Exmouth is some 1,250 km (777 miles) north of Western Australia’s capital, Perth, and is geographically closer to Papua New Guinea than Sydney or Melbourne.
