Eid al-Adha is a public holiday in Muslim countries. In certain countries, Muslims sacrifice a sheep or goat, while in Britain, the animal is killed at a slaughter house.

Muslims who are not participating in the Hajj, or holy trip, typically observe Eid al-Adha starting June 6. The date of Eid al-Adha may also vary from country to country.

In 2025, Eid al-Adha is expected to start on 6 June, subject to the sighting of the moon, and qurbani is usually completed within three days of the start of the celebration.
