Up until the PAX Prime 2015 build, Dreadnought has had five different playable ships, each of a different class: Dreadnought, Destroyer, Corvette, Tactical Cruiser, and Artillery Cruiser.

Dreadnought, like Satsuma and South Carolina, would carry a single main armament of large guns, rather than the mixed armament of previous ships. But Fisher wanted more than big guns.

Dreadnought’s capital ship battles drew him to Six Foot, the studio working with publisher Grey Box and Yager Development (the Spec Ops: The Line studio) on the free-to-play multiplayer game.

Commissioned in 1910, it would be the lead ship of its class. USS South Carolina and Michigan were revolutionary at the time, in the U.S., as the nation’s first dreadnoughts.

The ship was active for 34 years, fighting in World War I and World War II, and assuming multiple roles, including training Navy officers and periodically serving as a fleet and division flagship.

Dreadnought has been on the radar since 2014, but from the footage shown at PlayStation Experience 2016, it seems like the game might finally be getting a release in 2017.

Dreadnought does bring its own features to the ship battle game type though. From Developers Yager Development, Six Foot, and YAGER, and Publisher Grey Box comes the first true capital ship battler.

Commissioned in 1906, Dreadnought VII set the standard for battleship design for the next forty years. At 20,730 tons fully loaded, she was twice as large as VI.
