The dike is designed to go much higher than the 100-year flood level and will eventually be built to that level if the DNR OKs the diversion project, the agency said.
The dike, along with the cost of moving homes and the Oxbow golf course out of the way, is estimated to cost $130 million. The entire diversion project is estimated to cost $2.1 billion.
