Personalizing Windows 11 desktop shortcut icons is limited. Users can use a grid to keep icons orderly and they can sort icons based on name, size or modified date, but little else.
But you can place an ICO file on a network share and change your shortcut's icon to that icon. It will work anywhere on the network. Use \\server\share instead of mapped drives.
