Texas Democrats again defied Republican Gov. Greg Abbott and the state GOP and did not show up Friday for a vote on a controversial redistricting plan proposed by Republicans. The GOP-proposed new congressional maps that would give Republicans more seats in Congress -- potentially allowing the GOP to keep control of the U.

Images on social media accurately show a map of a "stolen house seat," represented by a Democrat, in Texas' 35th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives. While the map is accurate, the House seat was not "stolen" by Democrats — the district was drawn by the Republican-controlled Texas state legislature.
