Texas was tied with Alaska as the states with the fifth-highest share of food-insecure children. That's nearly 1.7 million children in Texas.

Every Wednesday from 9 to 10 a.m., the Food and Child Nutrition Services is extending its summer meal program for those in the Dallas ISD community. The meals come at no cost throughout July.
