In October, Howard County Executive Calvin Ball announced plans for the county-owned building, which was vacated in 2020. A new 238,000-square-foot Howard County Circuit Courthouse opened in 2021.

Circuit court officials presented the plan at the commissioners meeting Wednesday. The building is more than 100 years old. Officials said they're focused on renovating the third and fourth floors.
