Arapahoe Basin, which typically is the last ski area to close for the season, received 10 inches of snow on Sunday and a foot the previous week. The base depth stands at five and a half feet.

Arapahoe Basin will barely miss its customary October opening, but it will welcome skiers and riders on Saturday, Nov. 2, as will Keystone. Since 2002, A-Basin has failed to open in October only once.
