The Sporting News has released its Preseason Composite Top 25 rankings ahead of the 2025 college football season.

The Seminoles will face three top 10 teams in Steele's rankings and start the season against No. 4 Alabama. Florida State will also face ACC favorite No. 6 Clemson on November 8, rival No. 10 Florida in its annual regular season finale, and Miami in game five. The Hurricanes fell shy of the top 10 and landed at No. 14.

CBS Sports recently championed the 25 best coaching hires of this century, headlined by Alabama hiring Saban in 2006. Over 17 seasons in Tuscaloosa, Saban dominated the sport, winning six national championships and nine SEC championships.

The Athletic's Scott Dochterman has ranked the top-25 rivalries in college football, and the Crimson Tide has three games on the list. They were one of three teams that had three games on the list, with the Michigan Wolverines and the Oklahoma Sooners the others. However, the famous Iron Bowl between Alabama and the Auburn Tigers was not No. 1.
