CLEVELAND (WJW) – Ever since the disastrous train derailment in East Palestine, the Cleveland City Council has pushed railroad safety near the top of its list of priorities.

A Cleveland City Council member sponsored a railroad safety resolution ahead of a special meeting on March 21 regarding rail safety and emergency preparedness, according to a press release.

Hamilton, Ohio, is listed as a proposed stop on a draft Amtrak map that shows a passenger rail line from Cincinnati to Cleveland with stops in Dayton, Springfield, Columbus, Delaware, and Crestline.
