"If you have ideas and you want to draw them, that's easy," Gravel says. But if you want to draw and have no ideas, first of all, get something on paper. "To put something on paper, it unfreezes you.

How parents can help First of all, we can help our children draw and learn through drawing by simply giving them the materials and the time to use them. Encouragement to draw is also important.

And thanks to that young 18-year-old who wanted to teach the world to draw, many children across the globe — kids like me — got his message and fell in love with drawing, too.

Connecting dots helps children learn to draw, play independently, focus and improve hand-eye co-ordination. It also introduces children to moving pencils between a defined start and end point.
