Throughout his career, Corea released more than 80 studio albums. He was a member of Miles Davis' band. John Mayer, who worked with Corea, remembered the composer in a touching post on Instagram.
Corea played on Davis’ crucial studio album of the same name. In 1970 he also teamed with Holland and young horn and reed player Anthony Braxton to release music as Circle.
Corea, who joined Davis in September 1968, just missed overlapping with Carter, who had recently left. But Corea and Carter met often in the studio starting in 1966.
He released 81 studio albums, several live albums, and dozens of collaborations with other Jazz players. Across Twitter, Corea’s name is trending with fans giving their respects to the pianist.
