Wendt starred in Cheers from 1982 to 1993, appearing in all 275 episodes of the cult sitcom Actor George Wendt, best known for his role as Norm in Cheers, has died, the Guardian reports. He was 76.

The show, which aired on NBC from 1982 to 1993, followed the locals that frequented that locale, and also starred Ted Danson, Shelley Long, Woody Harrelson, Rhea Perlman and Nicholas Colasanto.
