The L.A. County Board of Supervisors approved a proposal to allocate $3 million to help owners of fire-damaged homes test their soil for lead.
High levels of lead were found after a soil test in the area affected by the Eaton Fire. Annette Arreola reports for the NBC4 News at 6 a.m. on April 11, 2025.
Walker’s husband has collected 12 soil samples from the yard of their Altadena home, which they will take to LMU, she said. “Soil tests need to come back negative for lead,” said Karen Walker.
