Wood also lines the interiors of the cafe Despite the small size of the cafe, Various Associates managed to incorporate a kitchen, bar counter, public seating area and private dining room inside.

The bar is positioned in one corner of the cafe, close to the entrance. It was created using oriented strand board and stainless steel to match the contrasting steel and wood ceiling of the cafe.

Candace Smith, who runs the cafe, says customers can count on an Aug. 1 opening every year, but the closing date depends on how long the crop lasts, which can vary from November to December.

The morsel-sized 30-seat interior is true to Neidich’s vision: milky orange walls, mauve-red tiles, marble counters and The Great Jones Café’s original wooden bar spanning one whole wall.
