Metrolinx says a $2 billion, 48-storey office tower and new GO bus terminal are being built south of Union Station on a lot that's currently an open air parking lot.

The new 10,000-square-metre bus station will be nearly twice as big and have 14 bus bays, compared to seven now. It will also provide buses with easier access to the Gardiner and Lake Shore Blvd.

The new main terminal will be completed in 2032, and crews could break ground before the end of 2024, according to the Port Authority. “Time has not been kind for Port Authority [bus terminal],” ...
