A former paramedic and paediatric first aid expert has taken to social media to warn parents about the dangers of putting a child in a car seat while they're dressed in a bulky jacket or coat.

According to Seugnette van Wyngaard, Head of 1st for Women Insurance: “Bulky jackets create the illusion that your child is safely buckled into their car seat when in fact the opposite is true.
