A horrifying moment caught on camera shows a birthday balloon blowing up in Giang Pham's face after it flew over her cake's candles - leaving the young Vietnamese woman with serious burns.

In a Facebook post, Channa said all of the balloons were filled with helium. A week after her birthday party on Oct. 1, Channa and Alexandra together popped the balloons.

Giang Pham, 33, suffered severe burns when hydrogen-filled balloons exploded at her birthday in Hanoi. She was treated for first and second-degree burns, but doctors expect no permanent scarring.
