Scientists have spotted a giant black hole. It is 36 billion times the mass of our Sun. This black hole resides 5 billion light-years away. It sits in the Cosmic Horseshoe system. Researchers used gravitational lensing to find it.

Astronomers may have just discovered the biggest black hole ever detected. Hidden five billion light-years away inside a galaxy called the Cosmic Horseshoe, the black hole weighs around 36 billion times the mass of our Sun. That makes it 10,000 times heavier than the black hole at the centre of our own Milky Way galaxy.
