Banner Gateway Medical Center in Gilbert, Ariz., has initiated a program that allows nursing school or pre-med students to volunteer in its operating room, according to an Arizona Republic report.

Todd Werner, most recently CEO at Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa, Ariz., was named CEO at Banner Gateway Medical Center and Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center in Gilbert, Ariz.
