Bangladesh's interim government is completing six months into power this month after former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was ousted in August last year in a student-led mass uprising.

Protesters in Bangladesh have vandalised and set fire to the former family home of deposed prime minister Sheikh Hasina, as well as those of other members of her party. The unrest was sparked by news that Hasina would address the country via social media from India, where she has been in exile since a student-led revolt ousted her last year.

Bangladesh on Thursday formally protested to India over the activities of ousted former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina during her stay in the country, labeling them as provocative. Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain stated that the Indian Deputy High Commissioner was summoned in the absence of the High Commissioner and handed a protest note.
