MELAKA: The Baba and Nyonya Heritage Museum here stands as a cherished cultural beacon, preserving the soul of Melaka's Peranakan community for the past four decades, says Datuk Lim Ban Hong.
The Peranakan, also known as the Baba (male) and Nyonya (female), are mixed-race descendants of immigrants from the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) of China who intermarried with indigenous Southeast Asians.
