BROOKFIELD, CT — The Brookfield Board of Education has voted unanimously to suspend its mandatory school masking policy, allowing for mask wearing to be optional effective March 1.
Cloth masks are the next best thing — but since most people in the deaf and hard-of-hearing community rely on reading lips, the group is considering masks with a clear centre.
The three new BOE members, Kathy Bond, Diane Albert and Hazel Stabler, refused to put on a mask per the school's policy, forcing the meeting to end before it even started.
