Currently, App Service Static Web Apps are available in the Central US, East US 2, West US 2, East Asia, and West Europe Azure regions and as preview starts with a free plan.

Azure gives you an option to upgrade the gateway to the Web Application Firewall tier. When you select the Upgrade to WAF Tier checkbox, the Azure portal reveals a few extra options (see Figure 4).

The new Azure Web and mobile app services offer scalable Web, device, logic, and API app back ends. The API Management and Notification services in this category are not new.

For now, Azure Mobile Services and the mobile component of App Services will be available side-by-side, but over time. It’s unclear for how long Microsoft will support both services, though.
