Killer bees have been spotted in 13 U.S. states: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas and Utah.

Brown places the bees in a 10-frame box where she feeds them sugar water. The box provides bees with a guide to build their honeycomb. Brown said there’s a stigma around bee swarms.

Bees generally swarm when they are looking for a new home. Swarming bees are loaded with food and are not interested in stinging people. Contact the Bee Guild to have swarms removed.
